Vietnamese women are undefeatable heroines loyal and full of duty

There is probably no country on earth that had such an army - Nguyen Minh Triet

The famed long-haired warriors, the women soldiers of Vietnam, played an essential part in virtually every facet of the Vietnam-American war and were without doubt a significant factor in the ultimate victory of the North.

The depiction of women in action on the battlefield is quite rare in the history of art, and virtually non existent in propaganda art outside the Vietnamese oeuvre. There exists no comparative visual testimony on such a scale of the participation of women in combat, or any similar series of images excepting perhaps, sculptural relief and painted ceramic depictions of the semi-mythological Amazons from classical times.
